I'm not quite sure where you see hints to Mia having been an escort. This chapter shows us that her "dark past" seems to have been her working at a maid cafe (which she seemed ironically embarrassed about) before becoming an actual maid. If I'm missing something though, I'd appreciate it if you'd share it with me because otherwise I'm reading this in a very different tone. The series does seem way too cute and happy to pull something serious like that though, at least imo.
