Where the twinks at in this manga?
ALL the groceries? Oh shit! Strong lady! Anyway, I totally get the 'gay men don't like BL' thing. Sometimes I like to read them, other times I don't. I think a lot of it, for me at least, has to do with the types of characters that appear in BL. A lot of the time the characters are a type that I read too much of and get sick of, and certain types are waaay underrepresented in manga. Like, this is just an aside or example or whatever, I enjoy romance manga with muscular women, but that type of character isn't common in romance manga to begin with, so searching for stories with specific character types can be annoying and often fruitless. I'm glad I got to talk about this, I rarely get to. Anyway, paragraph over.@friendly
Lesbian but same deal. I’m into stronk women (my wife can carry all the groceries at once and I just melt). But I tried to lift and get strong myself and while it felt like I had super powers I was like “nah” and just went back to skinny. Not so skinny now, but stepmom housewife with arthritis...
Anyway, I feel that.
Incidentally there’s a section on the YAOI and Japanese BL pages about how gay men don’t like BL. Meanwhile while I get that a lot of it is problematic, there are a few men drawing it. Some people like their boys/girls/etc soft and thin.
The prob is that kids are undereducated risk-takers (I was, you were, it’s how humans work), and don’t know that the growth discs in bones have a load limit, exceed it, and… Yeah. Overestimations, kid egos, too many plates, injuries, stunted growth, oversimplified stuff is what spreads…For anyone wondering- No, strength training does not stunt growth. Injuries do. Someone completely forgot to mention the injuries somewhere down the line, and it transformed into the myth we know today.
