Maybe Gen never really saw her as a sibling since they're the same age and since both of them see each other as the "older" sibling, they're kind of playing family. I think thing will get too serious if they start seeing each other romantically, like how can you even brush that off comically? But I've seen step-siblings getting married so I guess if that happens, this is just another taboo story, taboo but a great one.
