TBH, I feel like it's some kind of fucked up Stockholm syndrome. Clearly, he has dealt with some much physical, mental, and sexual abuse to the point he isn't right in the head.

in different perspective, ig this type of manga is like a lesson, it demonstrates the kind of personality you might find annoying so you can learn not to be like him, I bet the author does hate the character more than any of us readers do
