I'd argue it's more turning into a story about how Kei's two friends are struggling to put the best interests of their mutual love interest, over their own selfish desires -- now to the point that Eito's forcing the supernatural onto Kei in order to satisfy his needs first and foremost.
Eito's sexuality isn't the issue. It's that he can't simply be honest with Kei, he's now fighting with Noel over Kei, and neither of them are really considering Kei's perspective in all of this or what Kei really wants at the end of the day. While claiming to be Kei's closest friends.

They're both entitled hypocrites, they get angry when either show a slight interest in Kei but they're also both too much of a coward to just tell Kei how they truly feel.

im rooting for eito, but it felt very hard for me to do so while kei is still struggling for their sex. i used to think that eito loves kei in whatever form they have, but now, im not so sure. i think now when noel has the upper hand, he wishes to change him instead confronting his own feeling. tho in retrospect, theyre still kids! let kids be confused so they experience everything in life lol
At first i was kinda cool with Eito and wouldn't be that mad if he somehow end up with Kei but after recent chapter, nah he is even worse than Noel, monopolizing Kei all those time wasn't already enough now it reach unhealthy possessive level.
Ofc not saying Noel is any much better but she and Kei did drift apart for few years due to gender different and likely Eito monopolizing Kei if you notice how little friends Kei actually have even on the male side
Now it either gonna be a race on who realize where they doing wrong first to redeem themselves and have a chance to end up with Kei or neither of them get Kei would be the best

There's a bonus chapter with that premise (as a dream sequence). Currently not translated into English, but if you're like me and took Spanish in high school (and are desperate enough for more manga to stumble through on faded memories and context clues), then it's pretty fun.
On the other hand, seems unlikely that the mangaka would use the premise for a one-off "It was all a dream" gag and then use it in the story proper, unfortunately.

Tobi, turn Eito into a girl. That should teach him. Also convinced he might enjoy it better than Kei anyway.
Eito is the most selfish of the friends. He had Kei as his best friend and kept him from Noel as much as he could while knowing about his friend's feelings. He wished and made the friend what he is but because it didn't work out as it did in his head he is throwing a temper tantrum again
