Well, this is a trope I recognize. He's not looking at Keisuke because he's embarrassed and trying not to think about the fact that he saw them naked. Seen it a million times, but this series has been pretty decent about avoiding the clichés, so we'll see where it goes. Plus, just seeing a trope like this in a shōjo manga is pretty interesting.

Okay, i hate this trope. just because he is a girl, and has has something that belonged to guy (I mean he USED to be one), doesn't mean they are dating automatically, and they were so sure of it too

Eito really needs to stop being angry and possessive when it comes to Kei. I mean I get he is slowly having a crush on him, but they were best friends back when he was a guy, and he is not considering his feelings all of a sudden. Kei is not helping with obliviousness, but that could be explained as female hormones coming through fast which he is not used to.

I mean even if it goes the Eito-route in the end; the first chapter pre-transformation had Keisuke blush when Eito caught them and the "I'd totally fall for him if I were a girl" line. Could easily be there to say something was always there underneath even if Keisuke never really thought too deeply on it before.

I just dont think most people think "I'd fall for him/her if I were a girl/boy", ya know? It almost feels like the first stage in realizing something more but just not quite getting there. So the fact the line was there before the wish could be important.

So I dont think the body change is the only reason/explaination if that route happens.

Oh god the "I'd fall for them if I was born different" is like one of the biggest bi/gay flag, recently a friend told me when younger they did think "life would have been easier if I was born a girl"... and yeah they are trans and now know it , not even the only transfem I know that got this exact tough younger...

And while I do not think at all this is what this story is about, some people end up forcing themself in a cis relationship because that what is normal without even realizing they are in fact not cis and just go with the flow

Maybe its not but first chapter did have Keisuke talk about humans being pigeonholed by things, of note explicitly stating gender as one of them, and how life is unfair because of it. So theres at least some aspect or implication of that.

God, I had a best friend of the opposite gender when I was a teen and the 'boyfriend' 'girlfriend' comments got old so fast. They all know Uesugi used to be a dude and they all know Keisuke used to be his best friend. It's not the weird that they would want to hang out.
