And here I thought his brain is empty and he throws Guts(the first thing he comes up with in the last moment)!

As for me bet, Reflexes Ninja, he's doomed...He has to lose or the story sucks as he woulöd always win. After hypogirl is out curses girl is the only real danger. (She plans to do, what I feared she would.) I guess Lucky Boy will somehow blow the ninjas cover, as he is a danger to his luck.

I feel like, for comedy purposes, muscle guy should win... but I just don't know how it could happen really.

Oh,oh,oh! How about Muscles is actually very smart and has the willpower to flood his thoughts with images and words of rock and then decides otherwise last moment. And he is planning this without thinking that in words, so that telepathy guy is caught unaware.

Test it yourself and try to plan your day without formulating it into words in your mind. No words allowed in any form. As soon as you begin to think in words, stop it. Also try to NOT imaging in pictures what you are planing. Just the abstract concepts. You won't even hold out 20 seconds. Your thought process becomes too fast and it feels bad.

Honestly, I do want to see someone like muscles surprise the hell out of us and win a match-up or two. They pretty much hinted at it, but Muscles is totally religious to his muscles. His god will probably tell him what to pick, and he'll pick it without much a thought. If that's the case, how Telepath makes a comeback will be interesting.

I think you can totally do that for more than 20 seconds. It's just difficult to consciously try to do, or rather to consciously verify that you're doing it. I.e. when you start thinking "am I using words right now?" or "am I actually thinking about my plans or is my brain on autopilot?", you start thinking in words.

I imagine one reason is something like the part of your brain that identifies that words are present in your thoughts is also the part that makes thoughts verbal. And the latter issue I interpret as the brain's thought processes being continuous, so a thought process is unable to take itself as input unless it's translated into a discrete verbal or visual form.
