We just didn't notice the moment when Oguri pressed NG+.

So, her new coach really does have a shonen boy heart. He'll definitely become a top coach, or maybe even the editor-in-chief of Shonen Jump!
Well, Oguri herself already followed the Shounen Jump path: Friendship, Effort, Victory. They are the Shounen Jump duo pretty much.

Is there a list of horses that benefited from that? Apart from Opera
not really much iirc but that rule was a beneficial rule for JRA to earn more money from owners/trainers. It is also a safe rule to not let the masses throw a tantrum fit like they did with Oguri. Teams now are pretty much prepped up for the classics after the 2nd or third run of their horse, if they deem it not performing enough, they'd try to do well in Yayoi Sho just to be in time for the Classics.

the only thing left that I really feel that shouldn't be a thing is to let imported horses be in the Classics. During the 70s I would've love it if it happen so that I can see Maruzensky duke it out with the infamous TTG and March's dad, Press Toko.

that rule was discontinued in 2001, it's why Eishin Flash (yes I know he was born in Japan, but he was conceived in Germany, same situation as Maruzensky) was allowed to run in the Derby
that rule was on G1s rather than classics iirc. There's still limit. it's why Digital managed to run akiten and Kurofune didn't.

Eishin Flash per registry is a JP horse so by birth, he's eligible to enter without fuss. Maruzensky's case was a far more discriminatory rule which resulted into Maruzen only managing to race eight times because no one also wanted to race against him.
