man, thank god we got to catch up on a chapter like this lmao, it’s so good seeing Tsubaki and Laurel fighting so hard. Can’t wait to see the talk with Brian’s trainer either

thanks for the chapter and all the work getting caught up! Looking forward to keeping up with this one alongside the officials now

With the release of chapter 62, after so very long, we are finally caught up!! Obviously, it has been a very long road to get to this point and we're very thankful for everyone for being so patient with us. We never compromised in our vision over these last 7 months to make sure that this manga is given the time, care, and respect it rightfully deserves instead of subjecting it to a quick, shoddy translation. Every word of encouragement you gave us truly helped. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very very much.

You guys have been AMAZING. Probably my favorite translation team, keep it up and I look forward to seeing how StarBlo blooms in the future!

that's another uma who's been referenced who broke their leg irl and here end up unable to run again. Rice isn't going to actually die or anything but I'm absolutely convinced at this point that we're going to get a heartbreaking Takarazuka Kinen, maybe even a mini arc for her like Bakushin's to fill in Laurel and Brian's space in the story

also tysm to the translators!

Double the feels this chapter, first Rice and then mentioning Sakura Star O's 1987 Arima Kinen which lead to his very avoidable death
I honestly was not expecting the reference to Star O. I know the history, and the moment it was mentioned team Alkes and a surgery that didn't pan out, it hurt so much x.x

wasn't expecting them to actually acknowledge my birthday twin, Sakura Star(g)O(at)
given the circumstances over his death nor the Rice jump scare.

Thank you for the hard work everyone's put in over the last 7 months to let us experience this story!

I'm glad Shunsui Kyoraku managed to find a new job after Bleach ended, good for him.

The unnamed uma mentioned (team Alkes - thus Sakura stable horse, that got injured at that Arima Kinen) has to be their world's analogue to Sakura Star O.
Sakura Star O was winner of the 1987 Satsuki Sho and Kikuka Sho, missing the Derby (won by Sirius Symboli Merry Nice, in CinGray called Merry Beauty) to injury. Star O suffered a fatal injury at that year's Arima Kinen, but rather than being put down, his owner pleaded with the physicians to do whatever it took to keep him alive. However, Star O's condition continued to gradually worsen, until the spring of the following year, where he started to refuse treatment. They finally put him down then, and the assumed reason that Star O will never be named in Uma Musume despite the existence of other Sakura commerce horses iirc is due to the wishes of his trainer that in this world or any other, that Sakura Star O wouldn't be compelled to run ever again.

Aww…. How tragic, but yes, that makes sense.

His trainer actually greatly opposed Star O's participation in that Arima Kinen, btw. Star O's owner didn't think that the Kikuka Sho was doable due to the recent recovery from injury, but his trainer believed that Star O could do it (and was right). However, the 1987 Arima Kinen had a general lack of star power - Miho Shinzan retired earlier that year and Nippo Teio didn't have the range, so the roles reversed, with the trainer opposing entering the race while the owner faced immense public pressure to have the Double Crowned Sakura Star O attend. If not for such "being compelled to race", Sakura Star O wouldn't have passed away.

(also edited my previous comment, Merry Nice was the Derby winner in 87. Sirius Symboli won the 1985 Derby with Miho Shinzan missing it to injury but taking both the other Triple Crown races that year, and I got them mixed up)
