Man, what a beautiful closer- seeing this update was such a delight!
And honestly... this one hit a little close to home. I stream as a duo with my best friend, small time but with a good little audience. And you see people get all tied up in the numbers. Its easy to feel like its a pass-fail mark. But I think this really sums up what its really about.
You want someone to say what you're doing is fun, or interesting, or beautiful. You want it to be good. You want people to like it. To like you. I think in this way I'm lucky that me and my besty are both people who looked at '13 people showed up to this random stream at 2 am' and went 'Holy shit, we HAVE something here'.
13 was huge. I still think very fondly of it. But also: I know I like what I make. It's easier to not worry about it when its like that. I'm glad we got this moment of closure for our poor clout poisoned goof. I was always caught off guard by the way he never... I don't know. Turned into a villain, maybe? But it's too good a story for that.
Instead, it always felt a little bit as if, deep down. He genuinely liked art too much. I think seeing the whole picture now makes a lot of sense. A bitter guy who took a silly, roundabout way to hear... I like the art you made.
