She was trying to say she didn't think she would not be able to see them later since she didn't know they'd passed away.

Perhaps I missed out the [never] in this bubble -> "I never thought we'd [never] see each other again"

But using [never] in the same sentence... does it sound redundant?

Hmm...

Edit: I'm trying to get in contact with someone who volunteered to help pr. Hopefully I'll get a reply soon. While waiting, I'm also waiting for Vol. 2 to drop first before I can translate xD

This manga so far is frustrating in that it's very good 80% of the time, except that it keeps dipping too far into drama and ecchi at such times as to just ruin what it's got going (by going too far).
