birds has the mobility but too small, dogs has the mobility but too large not to notice, small dogs? no vertical mobility, any other animal is unnatural in the middle of a city so cat it is.

Impossible to conceal monkeys in urban environments. Dogs, not verticality as already stated. And the NIN research center had their brain transplant breakthrought in cats because probably the Research Center where they come from, which originally belonged to the Kamikaushi Clan, did their research in felines.

And it seems that cats are the animal of choice for shinobi historically. It sounds strange but it must be taken into consideration that the first western choice, dogs, are not used in the east because they are not traditionally considered clean animals. The adoption of dogs for security tasks is something relatively new.

He could be tricking him, or maybe offer a clone of his body, or an android replica of his body, since it seems the Kumo family has access to either cloning or robot tech

1. Captain Sasama was taking care of Tara, one of the Seven Lords.
2. The other NIN leaders did not seem to be concerned about Tara's status and they knew he was in good condition.
3. Captain Sasama was being escorted by the Rainbow Hound, a special unit totally loyal to NIN.
   
   Between the time Captain Sasama went to visit Kato in prison and the meeting with Ranban Hibi, Sasama handed Tara over to NIN authorities while officially already defected to UN.
   
   However, so far there is no clear reason why Sasama would defect to the enemy organization. It is possible that she is a double agent. Impossible to be a member of the UN and handing over baby Tara at the same time without getting killed, all of this without even taking into account that the baby is the perfect leverage to keep you alive as a nunkenin.
