I'm really intrigued by the plot of this one but i do have to say... the male lead's introduction being him murdering his girlfriend(?) isn't like, my favourite intro ever. obviously he has his reasons but right now it looks bad lol.

Seems like the woman was an untrained witch. Hence why the trees protected her. Although why the Prince has such hatred for witches will probably be explained in a few chapters. Although killing her just because the tree protected her is going way too far. It's obvious she had no ill will and never learned anything about witchcraft.

@tigerstar It doesn't look bad it is bad. Seems he brought her there to see if she was a witch for some reason. Since the trees protected her seems like she was a witch but didn't know she was or had learned anything about witchcraft. Agree he seems to have a reason to hate witches but murdering her just because she was a witch is going too far. Obviously didn't know was a witch and foolishly believed would protect her up to when he killed her.
