She asks for ten minutes, she shall receive ten minutes. That also allows her to focus, since she trusts him enough for that.

Normally, that's a bit of a tactical blunder, assuming he's not preparing spells while talking. Talking takes time, and if you're buying time, don't interrupt your enemy while they're making a mistake. However, he's skilled enough with a weapon good enough to count on defeating him so he can handle the rest of the threats without worrying about him.

He also has a few other tricks up his sleeve, like protection enchantments. One of the benefits of a witch girlfriend.

A battle is not a place for personal doubts. If you have to stop and think, think about the battle.

It's not so much a question of whether double incantation exists, but whether you're skilled enough. Tinasha is.

"How much more do you want to make me suffer?"
Not at all, actually. He's irrelevant at this point.

Bunch of hooded figures, a knight, a well-dressed man, and a cute girl. Introductions are in order.

Can someone ELI5 for me. There are so many things happening I'm confused.
Tinasha pretended to be on lanarks side sorely because she needed to know the names of the magic lakes that only lanark knows.

Because the magic ritual lanark did to tinasha went haywire, all of tuldar was destroyed and the souls of its citizens were trapped in the magic lakes.

Tinasha has been living all this time for the sole purpose of finding lanark and freeing all the souls of tuldar trapped in the magic lakes.

When Tuldar was first founded, the first king summoned ten super powerful demon spirits and contract bound them to the throne.

Ever since then, rulers of tuldar would summon the spirits, but they would only be able to summon 2-3 of them.

Tinasha is able to summon all of them, by doing so she basically solidified her position as the most supreme ruler of tuldar, thats also why lanark is so butthurt.

Hmmm yes, I a mage shall fight a guy with a sword that nullifies magic and be surprised that magic does not work on him.
