This. This is why leaving her alone for two goddamn years without even a text message was stupid.

I mean, yeah, most of the time people won't get the hint with oddly worded texts, but this is past negligence and well into messiah complex, as if any single happy ending is permanent and forever binding.

The scariest part is that this is supposedly based off real life. In that case this manga is a tragedy

It feels like this author' trying to fill out a bingo card of sensitive subjects that he can exploit for maximum pity points

My fcking brain really just wired into thinking “U—Uhm AKSHUALLY🤓☝🏽, the line should not be straight across if you want to die”, fcking hell… Anyways that’s one lesson for everyone if you didn’t know, main reason is to let more blood flow out of the vein, but please don’t do it, as that’s another wrong you’re doing in your life. Keep living.

Only some is based on the wife's past, the rest is fiction to make a better flowing story. Seeing how we have got the reader-insert, eyeless MC dude, I'd say he's the fictional part. Since he's fictional, he obviously never checked on Asuna. Maybe the wife got temporal help from somewhere, but it wasn't such a place that it would have kept monitoring how she's doing after leaving. It might have been an institution of some sort. A shelter. The father perhaps should have checked, but with his history of alcoholism and Asuna actually wanting to live with the mother, it's understandable the mother could have gaslighted him into believing Asuna doesn't want to be in contact with him anymore. After all, the mother needed that condition because she was using the child support the father was paying for whatever, telling in turn to Asuna he's not paying anything and doesn't care to be in contact with them anymore.
