Mentioned this a couple of chapters ago but for everyone going "Weh didn't marry the cousin", these two mangas have been based off of the mangaka's actual wife's childhood, with slight embellishment to make the story flow better. He's the one mentioned in the wedding invitation.

I think in Japan they also feel cringe marrying their cousins.
It might have been done on high society because of preserving wealth. However the commoners might not be even dreaming of marrying their cousins.
