UPDATE RESULTS 2 - 2022 Scanlator Community Survey

Hey! In 2022, the scanlation community here and elsewhere on the internet was surveyed to collect some large-scale data on the scan scene. Questions asked scanlators what roles they did, what languages they scanlated from, why they scanlated, whether they used MTL, etc etc.


Summary results of the 945 responses to the survey came out in 2023, and now this update takes a deeper look at some generational trends among scanlators. Do earlier scanlators and recent scanlators think and act the same? How do: roles, opinions, platforms, habits and more shift throughout the years?

Interesting... very interesting...

Speaking of the Bato.to take over,
It is understandable since Bato.to is mostly over the top answers on Google Manga Chapter Search.
And I also think Bato.to is less restricted than MangaDex when it came to uploading stuff,
They allow uploading official stuff even though MangaDex don't.
Still Bato.to uploaders sometimes "aggregate" MangaDex Chapters.

Anyway,
I am not a scanlator (yet)
