Quite the journey, but I had braced myself with the nature of the stories and the title and all the death flags...

In all this time I've only seen one manga go through the motions, stick the landing AND continue and be even better so I'm just hoping this one sticks the landing at least...

To add on, the "obscenely large thing" is most likely from the beach house staff from chapters 48 to 50. Also the future that was shown in chapters 139 to 140 was finally revealed to be here.

I think I'd commented way back when about whether some of these cases would end the world. Because some definitely hinted at an impending apocalypse, either due to the story's gray or some more cosmic horror-type forces that outright talk about the world being ultimately doomed.

But that said: the babysitting story talked about the life of the baby as she grew up. She reached adulthood, so... Either a minor plot hole (don't know how long the mangaka planned on this ending), or maybe the world doesn't actually end??

In any event, sad to see this series coming to its conclusion. It really was an incredible series.

I was gonna go back and check but then I realized that the older chapters were purged. 😭

I can't lie, even here, at the end of it all... I'm glad Jin gets such a. A moment of satisfaction. It feels so sad and sweet here. It feels as if he's become the last living person who can still see the same strange but human girl she always was. Someone as violent and alien as him...

We'll see how the manga actually ends, but IIRC we've seen multiple alternate universes thorough the series (for example, a universe where hama live with her siblings)
