This is some Junji Ito level shit right here. Although, it's not the same, it still creepy looking. From some of the facial expressions to the design of the monsters itself.

Now I'm curious about what's inside that briefcase that made them scared & drag their faces on the surface.

Good call. Also the people compulsively driven to weird and grotesque forms of self-destruction. Very common in Ito's work.

Oh the briefcase driving them to grind their faces off themselves is much more harrowing then some kind of monster popping out. It really does have an Ito type sensibility- high complement.

Notice that she left the briefcase laying on its side, and then moved away from it as she died. But when the girls find it, it's upright and next to the woman's body.

Ahaha, people here are saying Ito but honestly, seeing this issue made me think about the briefcase from Pulp Fiction. What's in it? Who cares! It makes people do awful things, and that's all that matters. It is very high-concept though, and I love that.
