So even if they life they get haunted, only those who doesn't have interest in art will not get haunted and if you have interest in art but your family don't have your family still get haunted. Pretty simple curse yet terrifying

So... these art pieces are propagating some kind of curse where the art "escapes" if people don't look at them and then follow those people who are interested in art, which then causes fear and terror until they die? Or something like that?

And it's put into question if the thing the art is based off of was something that only first appeared when the artist saw it for the first time, or he only saw one of the many things that "escaped" from somewhere and there could be more roaming around somewhere.

Also, so Yume said that they shouldn't take their eyes off of the art, but Yamu was doing that and one of the art pieces was wandering around and went behind her, but she fainted out of fear but was fine afterward. So why was she in danger if she was supposed to look at the art? And when she fainted and avoided the thing behind her, why did she escape the danger of whatever was supposed to happen if she didn't look at the art? And what happened to her partner on the floor? I dunno if I missed that.

I think there's two 'curses' at play here.

  • The art pieces must have someone looking at them, or else something in it escapes and haunts people freely. That's why the gray workers were hired in the first place - someone needs to watch the art while the exhibition is closed.
  • Finding a 'connection' with an art piece (eg, be invested enough in the art and "understand" it) propagates the curse, and the entity haunts the viewer. (And only the viewer, I'm assuming, because the gray workers can't see what their employer does).

The two entities seem to have different rules? The connections one just seem to follow the viewer around, but escapees are actually harmful.

yeah it looks like you need to observe the pieces to keep them from activating and then once active they become dangerous.

Love the Yamu Yamu, piece at the end btw, "why does she look like that?" "so the smoke doesn't get in her eyes of course"

I thought Yamu had facial paralysis cuz of the fainting/whatever had occurred to her, not just a gag. The way her right eye was drawn so low definitely ain't how someone would scrunch their face up, that would be the face muscles no longer working, like when a stroke/heart attack hits.

I really enjoyed this one, back to the non alien spooky shit.
It's never been aliens.

If everyone had done their jobs the first night, it would've been fine to just keep your eyes on the art. That was an escapee from the night before.

Ah, great art "stays with you". I suspect the escapees become that... lasting memory. But the ones that 'follow people' are manifesting through the emotional change caused by observing the art. By continuing to think about the peices... once again we have a case where the more you try to understand the more dangerous it is.
