Ykw, I really hate this set up of making you absolutely hate the former party/childhood friend or well in this case, the whole family. There's no remorse at all and they're all so fucking arrogant and conceited which are just annoying rather than villainous. At least show acceptable reasons as to why they hate him that badly, they've lived together with for almost two decades as siblings for God sake. It's just terrible writing! Good guy gets treated badly by bad guy now bad guy gets the shit oh boohoo like come on, don't just put that as a plot point to give people that sense of "hah, deserved" and then more often than not have a redemption arc where the protagonist forgives them which doesn't make sense or in some case their revenge which sometimes go overboard and just destroys the image of them being a honest good guy that you painstakingly made in the first chapter. The satisfaction that you get 30 chapters after aren't worth the the journey to get there. Why do I have to bust out my pillow from punching it 3000 time only to get that little niblet of shit at the end? What is this? fine dining? Oh you have slice of life romance as well, giving the good ending for the protagonist. Even that's shit. Conveniently he is really talented and very able. Are you gonna give some slowburn romance type? And then what? Point is, most of the time they have no goal other than live a slow life or prove they are capable on their own. Those aren't fucking goals, they're too vague. Slice of life is meant to warm the heart with wholesome scenes and here I am typing an full on essay because I'm so fucking frustrated. And what else, Those bitches didn't see his worth like how the hell? You've lived with for almost two decades! They have subordinates who seen his capabilities before and there's no comment on that other than that eventually ended being part of the MC's circle/harem. Oh and he's just fine, peachy, didn't care about what happened to him at all after getting berated. Maybe a little smidge when he finally gets the revenge. The fact that it's supposed to be an emotional moment (the only one getting emotional being me) when they banished him and then it's not. Like it didn't have to happen so fast.
Like how how how can such a shitty trope became common.
That said I'm gonna keep reading because I'm hoping I'm not being too biased.
