i mean you could just accept the job and still having a normal live ? it's not like they force you to do all the work like your previous family does ? do it for the money.
he wasn't asked to do anything but makeup initially.
He
opted to insert himself in all the other workers' roles and give them pointers. They didn't ask him for help, he just did it out of habit.
He's so used to being a one-man company seven-times over that I doubt he could help himself if he'd actually accepted Asuka & the Prez's offer.
And I'd argue more importantly - he'd just gotten out of show business. He
left the school he was at where Asuka's mom was headmistress because he felt he couldn't go there since he was quitting the industry, and he'd resolved to just have a normal life as a teenager because he'd never even gotten to be a kid, being worked like a slave by his family all his life.
Plus, they'd told him all his life he was bad at his job. Clearly, that's not the case, but he has no self esteem or sense of self-worth; he'd be torturing himself going right back into it, at any capacity.
It makes perfect sense he'd turn down this offer - even if it wasn't exploitative and abusive like his old gig, it's still too close to that bad time in his life. He's arguably better off just going to school, getting a job at a convenience store or something, and living out his life as an ordinary kid for at least a little bit.
