Short answer, cause that's what sells.Let me be that unwanted mooching uncle at every family party just this once, because yes, I admit I’ve contributed nothing to the manga industry aside from being a filthy scanlation reader. But someone please remind me why Japan is mass-producing already-written stories?
if they end up worse without him, this is literally the fantasy trope where the party kicks out the "useless" member who is actually competent and was keeping the whole party running.I swear the isekai trend makes anyone's brain wired into thinking banishment is reserved to isekai/fantasy stories. Given that it is in the modern world, I wonder if they will be lost without him or lose so much money in hiring so many people to do the job he easily did? Also if they hate men, how the hell did the mom pump out 8 kids without losing her mind. This has a follow for me because hearing that it is trending in Japan can be either a hit or a miss. Thanks for the translations.
i see some potential with the sister that didnt openly shit on him. gotta be a reason for that(Reads first chapter) sooo he won't be banging his sisters. So hey, there's something!
thought the same thing. when he started begging to stay after all the shit they said to him, I was like bro take the hint and leave already. ig since hes still young and it all happened so fast, he acts like this. but for them to be comically evil and all he do is bow his head is frustratingI just can't stand the bootlicking protagonists in stories like this. They're always portrayed as "kind," but it just comes off as pathetic naivety to me. His family literally laughs in his face, treating him like he's subhuman, and his reaction is:
Thank them for what? Dude could get kicked in the balls and still lick their shoes clean for daring to sully them with his filthy self. This is just too Japanese for my taste. He's the type of person who'd overwork himself to death for a shitty company, and then thank them for the privilege.
bro immediately gets saved by a harem, you can't make this shit upKind of interesting, right up until the last page. Straight up murdered any and all interest.

Two easy points to clear some of your doubts:Let me be that unwanted mooching uncle at every family party just this once, because yes, I admit I’ve contributed nothing to the manga industry aside from being a filthy scanlation reader. But someone please remind me why Japan is mass-producing already-written stories?
I swear, there has to be a template system in some manga factory where they just tweak the parameters. Fucking adjust the eye color, change the party class from healer to blacksmith, add one talking slime mascot and boom, a new series that looks like effort was made. Somewhere, there is an office full of professionals overseeing a manga and an actual editor approving the 18,381,738th iteration of “banished from the hero’s party”.
Realistically, I get it. They’re churning these out to meet demand, to keep the pages filled between their real hotshot titles. Maybe it’s something in between easy to sell, cheap to produce, passable for the mass market. But I can’t help but feel sorry for the artists. Some of these mangaka have talent, and it’s being wasted on this rinse-repeat cycle of cliché slop.
Is there ever that one sane person?? Anyone who’ll just say, “Guys, this sht is stale. No one’s finishing these stories because the ending writes itself.” At this point, reading one of these is like watching Detective Conan except instead of a murder mystery, the thrill is guessing which trope gets checked off next. The betrayal? The overpowered MC humblebragging about skills he didn’t know he had? The shocked ex-party member eating dirt?
I know, I’m ranting from an ignorant high horse. I don’t really understand the domestic manga scene. For all I know, people in Japan do enjoy conveyor belt sushi stories served with slightly different sauces. I’m also ignoring the reality that formulas work, and this one sells. So riding the wave might be smart, not lazy.
I get that. I do.
But still enough is enough, nothing personal against this series specifically but it just so happens to attract me on clicking because I absolutely loved the cover art.
I am crashing out. I’m the ingrate mooch getting fed the same porridge with different toppings by the feeding foundation, and now I have the audacity to complain. I want something fresh. Something meaningful. No isekai. No villainess. No “betrayed by the party and now I’m OP” revenge trip. I don’t want to be baited by the cover art again and get feed junk food.
Don’t get me started with the titles too. At this point, they might as well just write the first five dialogue lines of the manga as the title and make the whole thing a picture book.
Please, for the love of storytelling
Give me something new.
Is there any further spoiler about what happened with the youtuber sister after that?
Grrrr misogyny is when people say bad things about women no matter what 😠😠😠I can just imagine a webnovel author going “there are so many banished-from-my-family-because-I-have-no-skills-but-I’m-actually-uber-talented-and-I-get-a-harem-while-living-a-slow-life stories, how should I differentiate myself from the norm?” and getting a lightbulb above their head when they realize they can just… not make it a fantasy series
Edit: okay, so he’s not banished because he has no skills, he’s banished because he’s the only male in an all-female household. Which means the comment section will inevitably be full of people in Misogynist Mode

I cannot believe that after you read a chapter about a household of women kicking their only male relative out onto the streets after he's dedicated his teenage years to supporting them your first reaction is "Oh this'll trigger the misogynists."I can just imagine a webnovel author going “there are so many banished-from-my-family-because-I-have-no-skills-but-I’m-actually-uber-talented-and-I-get-a-harem-while-living-a-slow-life stories, how should I differentiate myself from the norm?” and getting a lightbulb above their head when they realize they can just… not make it a fantasy series

I would usually agree with your take, but I somehow enjoyed the same absurd premise in Hayate The Combat Butler, so I'm just gonna get drunk and let the author cook for a bit.I mean as most shoelacer stories, we will see later on that MC is actually a 500iq dude (who is good at everything. From music to designer clothing to even acting/directing) but for some reason staying behind the curtain to support bunch of ungrateful retards. This is the problem of writing with stories like these. No one who is THAT smart would settle for something this disadvantageous. But as always, you need to be pretty smart yourself to be able write someone like that so, here we are.
