There's definitely possibility for this happy, fluffy story to be depressing.

I watched the anime, but I don't remember this scene being quite so intense. It seems to me that Chiya is literally a cursed child. Mom's is an urara, probably the rank 1, and broke the taboo of glimpsing on the gods. Maybe even had Chiya with one? Either way, Chiya is going to have a rough road.

Also, I'm probably overreacting, but they said this is the only team-based urara exam... Does that mean the "Urara are friends, but also rivals" will actually come into play with our four? I really don't want to see one of them succeed by beating another.

and looks like the manga as it progresses becomes quite intense and the characters seem to have matured (seems like that from that pic) or that's her mom and that's cool too.
Anyways, this chapter I likey, its nearing the end of the anime I hope it continues to be translated!!!

That is indeed a picture from the past and not the little Uraras we know. If I remember right, in Volume 6 it hasn't even been a year after Volume 3. It definitely feels more serious overall, but that might also be the art style that's changed.

Yup, that linked tweet is a huge spoiler. Also I would like if this series is continued further for several volumes, it would be a pain for me is this series is ended with only seven volumes.
