Hooooooly shit! Satsuki is here! Or something that looks like Satsuki at least.
For me the best part of this chapter though was Sorawo pondering over her birthday and not quite realising why Toriko cared and how screwed up her own self perception is.
Like the fact she doesn't want to make Toriko sad with her backstory says a lot about how she cares for Toriko in this very distant way, but also how she has internalised those dark cult years as a part of who she is.
So seeing Toriko get sad over that would feel a little like a rejection to Sorawo i think, in a twisted way at least.
No wonder Sorawo spends 99% of cognition introspecting.

i. don't even know how to feel right now. my mind's in so many places. wow.

sorawo can't run from the truth forever, no matter how much her impulsive ass tries.

and hearing her conversation with toriko, only to see it being mirrored with satsuki? not only is satsuki already a demiurgic influence of the Otherworld itself, at this point, it feels like either sorawo's perception or toriko's perception of herself is that the only thing giving her meaning was satsuki, maybe. At least at that point.

Hummm. I think I actually agree with the decision to cut volume 6 and not adapt it to the manga.

Just finished vol 6, and got to say I'm even more sad that it got cut out, while I'm guessing that this will advance the main plot faster, it is still a shame all the good moments that we'll never see drawn like

Toriko slapping a Sorawo without memories after wrongfully(?) deducing that they are lovers, Sorawo being pissed at how gorgeous Toriko looks in a construction outfit or Toriko being jealous of Akari and leaning on Sorawo's shoulder.

But I got to give props to the mangaka cuz I can actually picture those scenes thanks to how well the rest of the series has been adapted.

Yeah, that whole first interaction you listed is one of the things that immediately leapt to my mind as a big loss. It's referenced during an important scene in a later volume, too, and I found clarifying and communicating why it happened to be a big deal in that moment.

It sucks. Cutting out 6 definitely isn't without losses. I think it may be for the best for grander pacing reasons and making sure the manga is able to have a conclusion; I'm always worried things will get canceled early or be rushed or whatever and jumping ahead now might avoid that fate... but that's partially just my paranoia talking. Been burned too many times, y’know, I want adaptations to get a conclusion they deserve, and that's volume 7+8 for Otherside. But it definitely still sucks to lose out on a bunch of stuff from 6, no getting around that.
