How does that part go in the light novel?
She has to add it all up in her head like she's a detective solving a crime just to come to the conclusion that a girl who's been hitting on her for months and even confessed to her is into her that way. It's hilarious.

Will this repressed autistic lesbian ever stop being so useless? yes, but not any time soon

If you meant the cut details, they just go into a lot more depth with stuff like the capabilities of the upgraded AP-1, the various tools they bought, alternate options they considered for "the flag" before settling on a spotlight, how the spotlight works (its hooked up to a generator and timer to turn on at the same time every night), how they picked the gate they're aiming for. Etc.
Like I said, none of that is really necessary to the narrative on its own, but without all of it the story just feel a little too light.

I love that Sorawo is freaked out by the idea that she might accidentally hurt herself with a knife when she pulls it out, despite having absolutely no qualms about packing heat 24/7

I think we will get some more detail in the next chapter or so, the story flows better when concentrating on one thing at a time, so first we get the relationship parts and then we get focus on the horror survival. the chapter would feel nigh schizophrenic if you added sorowa's internal feelings, the first night sleeping and all the tools. the chapter is already kind of bloated with text too.
