I wonder how many episodes the anime will be and how much of the manga/LN it will adapt. I'm on the last chapter of Volume 1 of the LN, and I'm enjoying the series so far!
I heard the 5th volume of the light novel just recently got released in Japan. I wonder how long till it would be translated to English because volume 4 is being released in English in a couple days but it got released in Japan like a year ago. I hope volume 5 doesn’t take a year to get translated I can’t wait that long😭 I’m in love with this series and also can’t wait for the anime
@ButtonsHere I think the issue with publication timing lies with the original publisher (Hayakawa) and not with translation. Urasekai Picnic releases a new volume every year in Japan, usually in the last few months of the year. Though I think things will get better because 6th volume will be released in Japan next March, which is very early (thanks to the anime).
J-Novel Club usually takes 3 months (give or take) to licence the latest volume after publication in Japan, hopefully we will get 5th volume soon
I read the third volume of the LN the other day. It was fantastic. I hope the anime will cover it.
The reveal at the end of the first file that Satsuki had been stalking them throughout the trip was chilling. The body horror of the Yamanoke was great, and I hope to see it depicted visually. It was disturbing how easily Sorawo altered "Karateka's" beliefs and personality. I'm thinking that might be part of how Satsuki exerted such a strong influence on those around her. The last file was pretty different from most of the series - with the main villains being humans, though they were being controlled - but it was thrilling in its own way. Satsuki had her most disturbing appearance yet, with her physically engaging with people and Fourth Kinds (what happened to the FK that touched her was especially horrifying). I'm hoping that Toriko and Kozakura don't entirely let Sorawo off the hook for her lies. Judging by the beginning of Volume 4,
it seems likely that Sorawo either didn't hear or didn't make sense of Toriko's confession, so I wonder when they'll frankly talk about their feelings.

So, I should head to j-novel.club right? Is that the official for licensed translation?
Also, does the origin work a published novel or web novel?
@yurirei Yep, j-novel.club has direct links of where to buy each volume and you can read the first 1/12th as a trial for free. I'm sure you already found it, but link for posterity: https://j-novel.club/s/otherside-picnic
The original works are published novels. The manga is currently in vol. 2 of the 4 novels translated, with vol. 5 released in Japanese and vol. 6 planned to release next year.
