@Jelly_Storm What part about grafting animal body parts to your body do you people not understand. I'm not even referring to what the characters look like or the story at all. Y'all need to turn your brains on for just one moment and think about it, think real hard and tell me if you think cutting out portions of an animals body and grafting it to you is not some deep end furry shit. I'm talking people like Dennis Avner, or that dude who submerged his hands in dry ice for several hours so they had to amputated so he could wear paws, and that one guy who took a dead dog and stitched parts of the dog to his face (which while I was trying to look for information on him, it turns out it was a hoax.)

The ears are considered an accessory in this universe with a similar view as a piercing, and apararently a similar pain threshold.

They are not looking to emulate an animal, the extra animal traits are considered a side effect.

The furries of real life are not interested in animal ears, they want the whole six nipples, slavering muzzle, butt sniffing package.
These girls/guys think animals are cute and I can have the cute animal ears yay.

The difference is akin to someone who likes a nice set of leather trousers because they feel it makes there bum look nice. Vs a person who wears a full leather dom outfit, has a dungeon in their basement and can only get off when someone is squealing.

Context is important here. Furry is it's own thing. The fringe psychos that are part of its community give it a bad rep. That's not the issue though. This is a different category.

Yeah, they're grafted animal bits, that's still a big leap from "girls getting a surgery from a medical professional(?) to go kemonomimi as a fashion trend" to "gross furry self-mutilation."

It's like saying you should never get your hands amputated, because that one furry guy had his hands amputated, therefore having your hands amputated is deep end furry shit even if you're doing it because you have gangrene.
Some of the grossest of furries fuck their pets, so you shouldn't get a dog because furries get dogs to fuck them.
Wanna get into some crazy body mod shit, get some tattoos all over, have your teeth sharpened to points? There's probably some furry out there who fucked himself up trying to get zebra stripes or wolf fangs, so you're a furry.

This is a side story to a nonsensical manga about cute girls doing cute things, if that's not your thing then that's fine, or if you're somehow unable to mentally separate this from people soiling their fursuits than suit yourself and don't read it, but stop trying to justify that bollocks to the rest of us.

Oh lawdy no. Japanese kemomimi is it's own thing that's not furry. Actual furries are bitching in comment threads and twitter that the Murenase! Shiton Gakuen girls aren't nearly furry enough and this is just a fraction of that. Nobody here actually wants to hump a rabbit, which IMO is where things go furry. It's just stupid and cute and stupid and cute is justice.
