This was rlly good up until the point where they tell the landlady's backstory. There were major plotholes in their story. 1st of all, I don't understand how she was able to run that fast right when matsuura was about to kill that guy. Wow, did she teleport? Honestly, I know it's a manga but at least the situations are somewhat realistic and understandable. 2nd of all, why did she even want to forget? Sure, her boyfriend was a criminal but am I the only one who doesn't understand why she was so sad? She accepted the fact that her boyfriend was a criminal and plus, it was her choice to be stabbed. She was literally smiling happily as she said goodbye to him because, from my understanding, she was just happy to be with him. Then when she arrives at the inn, she suddenly says she wants to forget?!?! I skipped to the final chapter, so maybe I missed something. But it was weird for me. I mean, she had good memories with him and her final moments was him crying for her so I don't rlly understand why she was so sad to the point that she would want to forget. Honestly, the other stories were much sadder than hers. U would think that their story was very good considering it was leading up to that but it disappointed me when i compared it with the other stories. I mean, the only sad thing in her story was that she wasn't able to live together with him but at least her memories with him were all happy ones so I don't rlly get it.

she was crying because she realised that he killed her and he has to live with that. The thing she was looking for was him and for him to get to the inn would mean he was dead. And she wanted him to live so she thought that if she'll never find what she was looking for, he won't die. It was really just a desperate gesture on her part. You're wrong, the saddest part of her story was that he was the one who killed her. And because she's dead and he is alive and they can never be together. And that's the tragedy.
Honestly, the saddest stories were the mountain-climbing dad and okura-san. If you don't count the kid, 'cause that's heartbreaking by default. Also, i can't believe they skipped Jun's story like that... they did him dirty.

"i skipped to the final chapter" bro what. i'm no media critic but this jumbled mess is so shallow it's laughable

I love bittersweet stories like this. Even though them being together would've made me happier

Simple but touching exploration of meaning. Wish they'd elaborated on Jun. It did well not to belabor upon the more episodic stories in the beginning and transition to the recurring characters. Saki and Matsuura's story wasn't anything deep, but, as Bantou often repeated, there isn't necessarily any greater meaning to life or death.

Jun got the short end of the stick here I don’t like that at all and I also wanted to know Bantou’s story but honestly the ending is a bit funky I hated the stabbing because as one said it’s like she teleported I’d rather her be killed by the bad guy or something I understand it had to be super tragic but her dying when they moved away and they finally thought they were starting anew and then because of his past ties catching up with him would’ve been just as sad soooo 8/10
