This guy is useless, but the hardest part to swallow is that I can't really blame him for it. I just feel like lightly patting the guy on the shoulder with "Tough luck," and avoid associating with him, like all his colleagues. He's really deep in a vicious circle and god know if there's any way back.

Actually, I can't blame anyone. I can't blame his boss, since Kobori-kun really doesn't give a fuck about what he wants, doesn't produce any profit, and dampens the mood to boot.
I can't blame his successful (compared to him) colleague, it's not like his either responsible for Kobori or that he stepped on his head to get the results.
I can't blame his wife, from her point of view this is a really lame husband.
And I can't blame him.

This is all so tiresome.

Still I imagine how this is the life of many salaryman in Japan so it's no wonder why suicide rates are so high there
