On another notes, what did usogui meant by not counting the beads? Is that mean Usogui didn't know how many beads he was actually holding?

I think this chapter confirms you were right with your speculation, but Baku had a workaround for it.

Yes @rennov, Baku had no idea how many beads he actually had while inside the chaplain. If you read the vol. 13/14/15 side stories, you'll see the exact plan he was countering by doing this.


I think slower speed ends up meaning the breaks in between chapter "batches" will be longer, which is okay in the end.

This is the last batch of updates with the previous translator . Previously, we did them in batches of 5, and we have up till 216 now. After that, it'll probably be in batches of 3, and slightly slower. The translator that's stopping is also quite good at localization, so it'll be harder for us to get the same quality.

Yeah, it's looking likely. If it's true, then now, if Baku figures out Suteguma's method, and gets the guessed sum from Marco, he can probably work backwards to get Suteguma's number and win the game.

I guess Baku himself must have a lot of beads (5+ maybe?) because any less would be too easy to automatically count. Unless it's a super bluff and he actually just has one or something.

Do you think they'll be going back into the Chaplain? Since Suteguma's guess was wrong, I don't think he has an option but to go back in. But to simply go back in would probably work to Baku's favor, so I wonder what Suteguma will do now.

Since Baku has no idea how many beads he took, assuming that wasn't a complete lie, I don't think it can be a small number either because he'd be able to feel the amount out naturally.

Hm, I think they will, but I wonder if Suteguma might pull something before that? I wonder why he was climbing the tower in the first place, since his ally was already going to enter the number. I wonder if he prepared more hidden things in the tower that can be exploited. Similarly, maybe Baku was trying to prevent that? Since he was taking a huge risk in climbing the stairs. I don't really understand what reasons they both had for climbing up the tower right now.

Even if Baku couldn't be read 'cause he didn't know, Suteguma could have guessed it correctly off a faulty read. Another win for Baku this time, but it would have been hilarious if he did guess it right.

No matter what Baku had, 11 was a valid guess @goodknife, therefore nothing will happen to it. If it went to a second round, then according to my earlier reasoning, I think Baku would have just went with 12.

That said, I think Baku knew for a fact that Suteguma would read too much into his reactions and end the chaplain match 1 round in.

@Veshv no, i mean.. let's say baku pick up 4 bead, and then he run out of choice from 11-14 and still no crrected answer, what would happened if him pick 15+ (which is impossible since his possible range cap at 14), will he get the penalty? assume yes then he need to limited himself to lower side of the game (2-9) but then again he don't know his number so equal or lower than his bead number would be 'impossible number' as well

Baku would be punished in a situation like that. But I think if the match went over two rounds, Baku would feel out how many beads he had.

Baku says "until the 1st round ended", so there are 2 possibilities, Baku counted the beads after 1st round ended and then threw them away, or it was just a bluff.
