I was on my phone when I first read it and immediately went to my PC to reread and say this:

CARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACAL (probably? pls be Caracal.)

Could also just be Ideal's leader coming to Japan, since he potentially got the password for the account with the 50 billion in it, so he might want to play/negotiate with Baku or Leader to also have a shot at surpassing the leader. But the weird part would be the line "I've been waiting for you", if that's the case. I wouldn't believe that he was alive, I swear if the author is baiting me...Kudos to the guy who was skeptical, even if it's kinda BS from the author, I didn't think he'd push suspension of disbelief this far, but oh well, I'd let it slide for Caracal (if it's him). Other than that, it seems like Baku knows what's going on and is planning to strike while Kakerou is vulnerable (and even if he doesn't rn he still "grasped all the things" he needed for surpassing the leader (unless they really figure out the newly changed password and he doesn't catch on to it). I wonder if Karl really died? Leader's sidestep was hilarious, and his ability to think fast on the spot is insane (also love how he has basic info of people saved so that he can remember if he forgets, and how he immediately got rid of the cellphone after so they couldn't track him); I wonder what he will do now, it'd be weird if he decides to just never come back to Kakerou, that'd be weird. Like, when he finds out that Eba is dead (and his father as well) why would he go on the run forever and leave this organization that he's been a part of for a long time just because of that? He'd probably decide to confide in one of his most trusted referees (who would probably know his secret anyway) and come back, instead of just running away forever, maybe? Anyway, fun chapter to start off the new batch. Super excited!

@299792458 I was under the impression it was the person on the other side of the phone that told the faceless guy to press a button on his cellphone, just so the faceless guy could detonate a bomb and unwittingly kill himself. The last few panels look like nervous sweat from Karl.

@Ominous Yep, realized after writing it but was too lazy to edit. Still would be weird for the explosion to throw him in that position, though. I hope he survives.

Now that we know for sure Eba is dead (at least, as sure as we can be with this manga), the question on my mind is what does Souichi remember at this point. Did Souichi forget everything in between starting from whatever he last remembers up until the present? If so, was he turned leader while Eba was still alive? I'm thinking Souichi may not even know that he is the leader of Kakerou at the moment.

As ever, thanks for the translations Team Duwang!

@Ominous Now that I think about it it'd be weird if the dude is actually Caracal. I think either it's not him, or he's really alive. If it's him, he survives the bomb for sure. Because you don't go out of your way to bring back a character that should've died just to show a twist that "oohhh, he's still alive" then kill him off in the end anyway. Maybe it's to show Ideal's leader as a ruthless, cutting-off-loose-ends sorta guy? I doubt it's that shallow.

Oh...
My...
God...

I think it's caracal since the stewardess seems to be expecting the faceless person (since she lost the gamble on the previous trip).

Muhfuggin' carpet metaphors.

Why he gotta write it like this lol. I mean I guess it's for the hype, but still.

The more I look at the stewardess' face, the more I'm seeing the transformation into his Batuque style.

I don't expect it to be Caracal either. It seemed somewhat more of an epilogue to me. Ideal's leader seems like a decent bet.

But if it is Caracal, it might be possible. Caracal's ability always leaves him unable to move, so it's possible that he would have someone looking out for him in case of any emergencies. If the phone guy was a part of Ideal, maybe him or someone else helped Caracal out before he got killed by Marvin? Marvin's blade to his face could have been shallow, too, so perhaps he might have gotten out of it with a scar.

@catx3 Yep. It's possible for faceless policeman to have saved him or something. Wasn't his name Martin?

Oops, yeah. Already forgot his name haha.

If it is Ideal's leader, it makes me think what kind of qualities he has or what kind of person he is. Someone charismatic enough to tame someone as smart and strong as Caracal..

Also, I'm surprised that Baku let the account information get taken so easily. After a gamble ends, isn't he usually the most prepared for some kind of violence like this? I was expecting either Marco or Kyara to show up there. It is possible to Baku to either change the password quickly, or have done already it twice at the terminal, but there didn't seem to be any hints to that from what I saw.

The black backing to the paneling makes me think it was some sort of flashback to when he was first leaving to Japan, assuming that he'd have met the stewardess on another flight prior. Not sure why his suit is black though, since it never seemed his style in any past appearance so it could be someone else entirely.

Still not sure about the direction of the events of the flashback or why it'd even be shown at all, but if related to Caracal, it will probably have some nice info on Ideal's plan, including when he kidnapped that one Ref#90 maybe? Looks to be after that though, so probably nothing to do with the Grand Canyon scene.

It's a slightly annoying place to cut-off at, but at least I know this would be the beginning of another batch.

@Lithe To be honest, the black suit is the main thing that was making me doubt that it's actually Caracal. He's only worn white or greyish suits up until now, so Idk. If it's Ideal's leader he could just be there to relay a message from Caracal to her or smth (far-fetched maybe but hey). Hopefully we'll find out next chapter.

I think that both the stewardess and Caracal are dead and are reuniting in some abstract afterlife/ transition to the afterlife. Remember Caracal's dream where he wondered if the stewardess "fulfilled her wish"(jumped out of the plane to be with the special presence(god?)). As we've seen before and will see later, Usogui doesn't dismiss the supernatural and spiritual.
