The ingenuity from the author never ceases to amaze me. Honestly.

Kaji became a little too good at this. It's not like I don't enjoy his arcs or anything, but it's like he got a couple of levels in intelligence/confidence between bull arc and tv show, and went from "barely managing" to "Usogui Jr.".

@WarpEcho I don't think that Kaji is "too good". He's simply gone through really tight spots and had adapted to it. Experience-wise he should be able to think through an abnormal situation like this. Don't worry, he still makes blunders here and there, and also you'll see how "normal" Kaji is compared to monsters like Baku and Hachina.

We would definitely have to see the results of the game to really judge Kaji's growth since he took such a backseat in the previous arc.

He's looking good so far since unlike the bull arc, everything is not going perfectly at the moment so he's not being set up for a blatant "fall", but I look forward to seeing his struggles.

Though Souichi is there so there kinda isn't much to worry about and I'm mostly interested in him at the moment anyhow since he IS a confirmed big player.

Kaji is not "too good" at all. He even fails at the basic things that he knows he shouldn't. Like for example not letting your emotional state of mind show during a game. A mistake that totally makes sense given how new he is to this; but he's also now aware after a number of similar ordeals of the things that he has to pay attention too, and so he does. He's nowhere near the top players, but far above what an average person would be like, which is a realistic transition.
