They redo the bet, so both players would know what the other bid and then end up work from there.

I'm a bit surprised neither of them are shit-talking right now. Seems like a perfect time to just absolutely screw with each other's mind.
Boro's sword name can apparently mean either tooth or be an onomatopoeia for a grating noise. Someone with an actual understanding of Japanese can probably clarify which one Boro was going for with that name.

This is hilarious out of context.

This game isn't designed to last a long time, is it? It also definitely relies on the physical capabilities of the players, but I'm sure that was all taken into account by the refs (really ought to confirm that even without the blunted taser damage Floyd can't be nearly as great as his compatriots). I wonder what his value to Lalo is.

Kaji didn't seem to even try and think about what kind of weapon the wooden shield could block better than the other two shields, which would have immediately thrown some doubt on the Janken idea (and the fact that how would the taser work with the iron shield is indeed a mechanic I don't understand). The only idea that comes to mind is the ease of use by the player, therefore defining how effective it is on its own.

*Oh, apparently Kaji threw out the Janken idea on his own, I misread. Still, he had Floyd's reaction to go on along with his 10 bios taser 'throwaway'. It seems mildly unfair that Floyd got to start off with the info of the weapons (seemingly the key to this game since the shields can't 'finish' per the rules?).

Also, what was the specified winning condition? When I went back, they only talk about "decisive" results. I can assume what that means, but still. It would at least explain why the winner of the initial bets (which seems to be the whole mind game here) will get the spear. The rest is just figuring out how to incapacitate the other with the given tools, assuming you make it past the first game.

Finally, we're in final batch chap range, any definitive answer now? I'm kinda expecting the conclusion to come soon based on the initial range given and that's where you'll stop?

The batch will end at 367!

Yeah I was thinking about what would even be weak against a wooden shield. I thought it could be something chemical, like it reacts on iron but not on wood/rubber, but then a gun just comes out lol. I guess it makes more sense since Kakerou wouldn't be carrying such a thing in this island.

They were pretty vague about the rules, now that you mention it. Although Kadokura said it had to be a 'decisive ending', which I initially took as 'kill the opponent', now that the rules are mentioned more clearly on p1, the minimum might be merely "make the opponent unable to make a bet/choose a shield/spear in time, or make them unable to stay within the white line." So I guess just knocking the opponent out. I don't think there's a way to "trick" the opponent into fulfilling one of these conditions without KOing or killing the opponent.

We don't know if the japanese sword fully beats the rubber shield while not paralyzed (although it probably does), but I noticed Floyd made a dent in the shield on his turn. So the shields can be weakened over time, which could be a strategy to aim for.

@nhattminhh I guess we will see, but I feel that emphasis on him looking at his arm was to bait the reader into agreeing with Kaiji
