Oh god!

This whole island has become a humongous PR backfire. We already knew Arata was planning something sneaky as hell, but now the island has gone from Usogui vs. Hachina vs. Lalo to Usogui, Hachina, Lalo, Kakerou, the Developers, and finally Arata joining into the fray. We got six sides doing some serious backing here. This also means that there's the possibility that Arata could win the Ban as the Kaiser despite not originally being involved in the arrangements for the Ban. As said in Chapter 328, "When the time is over, the Kaiser is the winnner." Oh god.

Lmao Arata kinda just fucked up Usogui's one-day-win strategy. I'm not exactly sure about whats going on though. He is selling the island to some foreign nation and making everyone think it was Daiba's fault?

@Ominous just as your name implies, this is some ominous shit. And you're right, just as Midara said, the rule only stipulates that the one who's Kaiser at the end of the Ban game gets to challenge the leader, thus making everyone a potential candidate.

This shit is awesome

Nowa finally shows why he's #1 and "God" descends onto the island. Reminds me of people calling Light "God" in Death Note.

I've said it before, but early on I was kind of put off from the action sequences taking away from the mindgame gambles, but now I'm really into it. It's good for the overall theme of the series.

I hope that guy who was going to quit a few chapters stuck with this

About the vests: if someone else were to manage to steal one of the king candidate vests without the devs realizing somehow, they could manage to become Kaiser, right? Lalo might be able to do that with Arata now, since Arata should be easier to find than Baku's allies. Before that, he needs to find out the fact that Arata's vest exists though.

The batch will end at 412!

@Veshv
I don't know if that'll work, even if Lalo becomes the kaiser with Arata's vest, it'll still be Arata who is technically the kaiser. Maybe he could "kill" the vest with his own vest/weapon, but I don't actually remember if you can take the position of a king just by killing them as as a normal player.

@belkrax
The island being sold might've been just a lie by Arata, since Daiba should have the rights to the island since he bought it (then again, it was with Arata's card).

If it's true, then it's that he sold the island to some separate entity, so he could get funds to buy that foreign nation. The foreign nation likely didn't buy the island (since they're bankrupt). No idea why he's trying to blame Daiba though.

@catx3 I was under the impression Arata framed Daiba, just so Arata could spur up the Shoudo head admin and others into assisting him.

Good point, and killing a king just means you take down the kingdom. Since friendly fire is not allowed in the game, Lalo would still be prevented from Kaiser if he did try that. I guess there really is no other way than to do what he's doing right now.

Lmao Nowa.

Figures that if he started with an island and mentioned beta testing, it would apply to a country next.
So he had tons of its currency as he was slowly taking it over in the shadows, then he used some of the spare currency to frame Daiba and the other devs bought it easily. The relationships of the creators are very nifty. Arata is a pretty spectacular character thus far - and his beautiful locks, man.

And Hal casually strolling through the base like that, with his godly perception, I wonder what he will be able to utilize. Hope he gets as much spotlight as he did in the Battleship Arc, but now that Lalo and Baku are in the picture...

@Ominous I know that the way this manga goes that is a very likely interpretation of the rules, especially since Midara is overseeing the ban, but was it ever explicitly stated that anyone other than those two + allies could technically win the ban and the rewards? The original explanation of the ban confused me a bit and it seemed like the players might be the only ones allowed to win simply by technicality. So if the referee in charge believes in that, even if not stated, it may be interpreted that if someone from the outside the ban wins the Kaiser seat, it would only be counted as a loss for Baku & Lalo and a win for Kakerou. O'course the referee shouldn't be so careless in highlighting the winning condition, but the author tends to be sneaky like that. Ultimately, Baku's gonna win as we all know, but yours is a statement that leaves open the fact that Kaji can still win somehow (don't ask me how he's gonna get to level 80) and take on surpassing the leader as was once stated eons ago.

@catx3 Fuckin' exciting! Thank you.

@Lithe It's honestly been so long since Baku vs. Kaji that many of us might have already forgotten Kaji's role.

While we're at it... Bit spoilery, but we've all seen the cover for the final volume. I'm under the impression the character on that cover is actually Kaji, not Baku.

@Ominous I think Kaji taking Baku's place was only because Baku didn't have a membership back then and was also awaiting collection on his life, but now he doesn't need to worry about that there's no need for Kaji to take Baku's place. But it obviously could still be the case, even if I doubt it.

I agree with @299792458, I don't think Kaji will be the one to challenge StL. Considering Baku's talk a few chapters back about paying a price to trick people, it's likely that Kaji was one of his many gambles in case the Labyrinth didn't exist as it does. And as far as the last cover goes, that would imply Kaji's hair suddenly turns white, which I won't discount as a possibility, but it sure seems weird for that to happen instead of it just being Baku, whose hair is already white.
