Well, if Cameo is right and Lalo has Ryuusei's vest too, they're already in a stalemate; there's no way for Baku to become the Kaiser in one day. If Lalo just had Arata's, Baku could still get lucky and not have Arata become a king during the allocation. With Ryuusei's vest captured, at least one of Ryuusei/Arata is guaranteed to become a king, and Baku will be unable to unify the island as Kaiser. Meaning they would both lose. Lalo's plan is likely to force a stalemate and have a 1v1 gamble with Baku for the entire match.

Even that wouldn't work for him, the only thing it would guarantee is that Baku loses the Ban. Unless Lalo changes the fundamental rules of the game, in the way he's attempting right now, he can not win the Ban.
What Hal just did with the bet regarding the mob would have guaranteed Lalo's loss. Which means either Daiba refused, or Fukurou is about to pull another stunt to prevent Daiba from locking the computer out.

That's what I mean about it being a stalemate. I figure that Lalo is hoping to force Baku's hand by making it so neither of them can win. Lalo is already losing, short of Fukurou being able to change the game system, I figure that his backup plan is to just make both of them lose (or at least bluff that he will do that, and force Baku to gamble with him). If he can't win, he might as well screw over Baku while he's there.
Although Baku won't die if he loses, his entire wager would be pulled off the table and Surpassing the Leader annulled, meaning he would have to start from square 1 again, but this time without one of his biggest pieces in Kyara, and things like the Karamete already in place throughout Japan. So he would have to come up with something completely different to amass 50 billion yen and the right to challenge the game, all without Yakou losing #0 in the meantime.

Oofuna hits nicely because of how "real" he feels in the sense of how things SHOULD work. It's also nice to have a fully good character. Kaji is good, yeah, but slightly grey morally.
Anyways, we all knew we are heading towards something that can be solved with a Baku vs Lalo match.

I think Lalo still has a chance to win the ban.
The rule state the previous kaiser can't be elected as a king in reallocation.
However Torpe said their plan now is get all their vests who will become the king.
Then force them elect Lalo become a king on 31th.(ch417,page13)
Now Lalo already has Arata's vest and maybe Ryusei's(?) too.
If he get them all then he can do the same strategy like Baku's.

Lol based on the mini spoiler, I guess we'll get a replay of Hal vs. Fukurou? Fukurou was known for card games after all, wasn't he.
There really ought to be a duel between Baku and Lalo later though. We've only had the equivalent of castle vs. castle throughout the ban, it just felt too impersonal for my tastes.

Good point, don't know how I missed that. That is only the case if he also gets Champ's vest though, so I wonder if he'll also somehow manage to capture Champ before finally facing off against Baku.
