can't help but think there's gonna be a near death halucination kinda deal where we're shown one person's victory while they're actually dead or for sure dying like it was said could happen in the beginning, but the question is, is that what's happening right now? Imo, he's either going to fall down and die/lose consciousness during the round, and thus Usogui wins

Or both Usogui and Yakuo are hallucinating and he's already dead.

One final scare before victory, so to speak. I just can't believe that the author would get the leader up and capable of gambling after what he went through. I know this manga is full of unbelieavable things, but this would be too much and damage the significance of what has transpired up to now.

Even if Baku succeeds in this check, he needs to trick Souichi/Hal one last time to get Hal over the 5 min limit and finish him off for good.

However how will he do that if Hal still can use echolocation incredibly precisely?

Think maybe there's an ulterior motive for this fight? It is presumably the end of the manga and we know absolutely nothing about Baku. Perhaps that is by design and he is meant to be a blank slate, but his behaviour towards Hal may not be limited only to him wanting the bet to surpass all bets.
