Good to finally get confirmation, even if we were already aware of these things. Interesting to see young Baku's thought process. I can't believe there's only a few more chapters to go... Thank you for the chapter, Team Duwang.

Just imagining how thought out this is with the call backs to earlier chapters, this mangaka seems like they had this story completely planned out since the first chapter. Compared to a lot of other mangas out there that seem to change things up along the way from beginning to end, this is breathtaking.

Also plays into Usogui being the “lie eater” and taking down Hal at the end of the manga when before the first events of the manga he knew that Hal had lied to him. I really doubt he would’ve gotten into all of this if he didn’t find out Hal was lying all the way in the past.

So this explains how Baku eventually gets the idea to take Hal's periodic memory loss into account when planning his most recent surpass the leader challenge. Since it's been a few years Hal's memory loss likely stabilized to once a month events just like the person mentioned in the e-mail.

So Baku had hints of when Souichi would lose his memories, "based on the moon's cycles". I'm still curious if he was aware that "Perfect" Leader could exist, as this would have been the time for him to learn it, which would explain his choice of an absurd gamble in Air Poker.

I think it was on purpose, he needed to erase the thought of Hal from his mind so the next time they meet it'll just be as two enemies

So this means that Baku was keeping track of the bookstore and orders related to the book Hal always used when he had amnesia in order to try to set the date of the surpass the leader game to one month after the order was placed for the book in order to have him suffer a memory loss episode mid game.

Given the fact that this was an e-mail to Eba, who died a day later, the rest of Kakerou may actually not be aware of this fact. That would explain why Judge screwed up and hadn't realized it was time for the memory loss at the MPD. As far as they understood it, given the exchange between Judge and Yakou (B), they only are aware of the once a month loss, possibly not the whole "moon" deal. The real problem here would be that Kakerou was not aware of it as much as they should have been, because of Eba's death.

Yes, most Kakerou didnt knwo about it, but Tatsuki knew about his son condition since the begining, Both Yakou also knew about his Hal condition... it's like atleast 4 people who could have just told him. Someone as smart as Hal would find another efficient way to get his memories. 🤔
