Holy shit, I was so shocked by her dad slapping that woman, not only due to the fact that he did it right in front of a security officer, but also the sheer force and utterly lethal eyes with which he did it… I literally could not stop laughing. So much so that I got lightheaded. That was probably my single favorite scene yet.

Sure, the dad is obviously terrible in some ways, but the way he utterly shut that abuse down was amazing. It might not be right to hit someone, but goddamn can it be satisfying when they have it coming. I wasn’t expecting her to receive any real consequences for her abuse, so the fact that the retribution came both so suddenly and so viscerally was great. The fact that she went full horizontal and bounced her head off the couch’s armrest… Beautiful. Truly a work of art.

Oh, also, Akira is best girl. She’s incredibly adorable, deserves the world, and I truly hope the twist at the end of this chapter will lead her to a happy and healthy home life in the coming chapters.
