The joke I was going for was that in marriage you inevitably will learn just to do stuff to placate your wife/partner. I know they're not married, but the meme is that they're dating and don't know it yet.

Also, no, this is not being a simp. A simp (Sucker Idolizing Mediocre Pussy) is trying so hard for but a crumb of that pussy that you spend exuberant amounts of money, time, and energy on a girl that couldn't care less, or that puts a lot on the line at the potential of getting a date, even to the cost of those around him and himself.
