It was a funny story.

It's a shame the author felt like he couldn't the story, it's very rare to see manga author pull the plug on a series versus the publisher doing it. In fact, I don't really know another case of someone in the manga industry doing this ever really. But hey, at least he's happy now doing Gash Bell 2.

He lost the plot pretty early on, around the time the rubber girl showed up. Everything after that was not well paced and he needed to flesh the characters better one at a time, with a smaller cast. Zatch Bell didn't have this problem because he could always have a character get their book burned and that'd free up space in the cast with the added bonus of an emotional farewell moment. He didn't get the benefit of that in this series and it shows.

Well, gotta respect him for knowing when to pull the plug himself. Not a great series in all honesty.
