I think the author is kinda great at potraying those situation, and thats how it is in real life(based on how i see it)
Kinda awkward, kind of hard to talk about and misuderstandings, also not resolving those things that you think is wrong

I think this portrayal of teachers is totally valid. I don't know what kind of schools you've been to, but school atmospheres differ and it can be hard to approach teachers about this stuff. When there was a very well known theif in our grade, a few people tried to report them but no one really did anything, probably to keep the peace or something. Only if it became a big issue or they saw it with their own two eyes did teachers ever do anything.
So while this may not be the most perfect portrayal of school staff, it's definitely not wildly unrealistic.
