@givemersspls I feel like it's a combination of the dialogue along with the way the image structure works.
- The author doesn't play with the space and sticks to using one or two text bubbles per "page". Contrast with say how Bill Watterson would completely alter his panel structures for Sunday comics.
- Those text bubbles usually are fairly short. Author doesn't usually experiment with longer monologues or back and forth on a single "page".
- Dialogue is interrupted with images frequently to give context or show inner worlds.
And I too miss the focus on food.
