In case anyone's wondering, blini batter takes a minimum of a hour to make — because it needs to rise at least once (the recipe my family uses every New Year's Eve has three risings while the ones we use for New Year's Day both use only one) — and frying takes around twenty to forty minutes depending on the size of the batch and how many pans you're using.
