She seems kind of airheaded.

Why is it necessary to brush our teeth?
No other species finds it necessary so why do we need to? What is it about our modern diet that makes it a daily necessity?

What could possibly be done to stop this I wonder?
Laws to prevent financially exploiting dietary addictions humans have, since human brains are wired to seek salt, oil, fat, and sugar, none of which are healthy in the quantities lower income people tend to consume them in.

Actually there is quite a lot of medical evidence demonstrating that animal fat is actually very healthy for us.
But seed oils are toxic and induce multiple diseases along with making you fat, sugar is a more complex but definitely way too high. The evidence against salt is disputed and seems to come down to it lacking the proper levels of potassium and other trace ions.

I found a lot of very informative research when I came across and started looking into the growing low carb diet and ketogenic community.
There are many freely available seminar talks on youtube and other sites by expert researchers in the field.

Still I'm not sure how to construct legal protections without risking serious interference from vested interests such as the seventh day adventists, It is quite startling how much impact they have on dietary culture such as being a major force behind the whole vegan push and demonisation of meat consumption.

It’s very interesting that animal fats can be healthy. I suppose it makes sense, kinda like fish oils or how vitamin B12 must be obtained via carnivorous means.

Turns out you can actually live pretty much purely off of meat and be quite healthy while if you try to live purely off of plants you have to flip through so many hoops to avoid crucial nutrient deficiencies. If you have the time or inclination I highly recommend starting with the story of someone like Dr Gary Fettke who tried telling his patients to stop eating sugary foods so he didn't have to cut their gangrenous feet off and almost got struck off, it's quite surreal.
