I think Ji Yong is making a stand that he won't be intimidated until the other side slaps him with smoking gun-level evidence. He has strong principles, after all. And I'm guessing he thinks Yeongji is an alibi of last resort, because if she's questioned meticulously enough, it will become clear that she cannot account for his whereabouts during the hours she was asleep, and that could lead to further questions that will be harder to dodge.

That or he's setting up a major embarrassment to Yeong-il when she reveals they spent the night together (which is a solid reason not to disclose his whereabouts with anyone without a valid reason). Some comic relief, too, as his male friends are already green with envy of Ji Yong's being so popular with girls they embrace him out of the blue in night clubs and wait at random bus stops to ask him on dates.

I for one like that Ji Yong isn't the stereotypical cockblocked lone wolf these vengeance-driven protagonists tend to be. This series doesn't carry a rating that allows for bed scenes, but I hope it's later implied he has a normal sex life with his girlfriend.

That aside, the other highlight of this chapter is the disgusting scene with Min Woo. I thought I couldn't despise him more than I did up to now, but this chapter proved me wrong. Now I'm curious what Mi Ryeo's next move will be. Knowing her, I'm guessing she'll force Min Woo to become a double agent and feed the gangsters false information. Since she doesn't care a hoot whether he dies or not, Min Woo is totally gonna get what he deserves.
