Eclis creeps me out so much I just know that this guy is gonna be the real villain the colour of his heart is also really suspicious.

Every interaction they have is just very S&M, tbh I don't think it goes much deeper than him being a sub at heart and admiring his dommy mommy who has been his only beacon of hope after being enslaved-- he's developed deep rooted dependency. Notice how Penelope switches personality whenever he's in the picture and speaks with the kind of language and manipulation you see in those kinds of works. Pretty sure that's what the author is going for.

Literally every other time she had some other idea on what the targets are thinking it has been a misunderstanding on her part due to mistrust and paranoia, so I don't see why her theory that he is acting should be any different.

IMO, Eclis and Penelope's relationship starts to become unhealthy, and I'm reminded of some chapters I've read in Your Throne. The female lead (Medea) had a toxic relationship with one of the male lead (Helio), and although the ML has deep feelings for the FL (which she clearly knows and acknowledged from the beginning), she continuously uses him for her own goals even if it hurts the ML a lot. The story had a promising and interesting plot at first but the flow got bad in the later chapters I can't find enough justification for the FL's actions to redeem herself. it was so disappointing I had to drop it. I hope it won't happen here.

for some reason I like it when characters are manipulative pieces of shit, as long as its written well (other than that MF from Heavens feel, don't even wanna say his name).

PS: Eclis is totally a masochist
