I really did not like this chapter.

I feel like with the introduction of some characters like Garm and chain guy we now have individuals that are way above other warriors that should at least impose a decent degree of difficulty. These are jormvikings here, not common English rabble. Garm anime-dodging incoming arrow fire like its nothing really diminishes the seriousness and importance of the story imo. And no, I'm not saying everything has to be grim and no jokes are allowed, but that personally, characters that are strong are fine as long as the difference with other decent fighters is like 20 to 50 percent tops, not almost nothing, like how here Garm, Thorfinn and chain guy all seem to be able to beat any no name jormvikings warrior within a single panel.

I agree, but here's the thing with Thorkell.

He is already recognized as a monstrous figure within the setting. I'm not talking about the way he is depicted in the artstyle, but as in actual characters within the story recognize him as being a beastly man, above everyone else. He has been given a justification for his monstrous strength, continuously reinforced since his introduction to the story.

Garm looks like a regular dude with, with an exotic hairstyle. Chain guy is also just a regular looking dude within the setting. There are no legends about them, yet they somehow are as skillful and powerful vs jormvikings warriors as a hero of legend, like Thorkell.

Having said that, that bear dude fight was ofc way over the top imo. That one is so clear to me I personally just ignored it :ROFLMAO:
