The fighting is sort of shown in setup and ending, not in execution really.

The last words were similar, but Faust basically asks for any final words, any regrets. Caroline directly says Martina then. Faust then directly regrets asking for the last words, assumes Martina is probably dead, and 'carves the last words into his heart'. Not a major difference, and most of it could be moved around, but significant for the understanding in the moment.

The corpse shown on the battlefield is probably one of the militia. We can see on page 12, middle left panel, the second girl from the left is Hannah.

And yes, Faust did bag Caroline's severed head in that confusing panel earlier.

For sake of anyone wanting to follow along, we are at chapter 15's end/16's start. Just. . . missing a great deal of depth in chapter 16. We are just around 3/4 of the way through Volume 1.
I see so in essence, this is just a set up for Martina to do a "I am Martina, you killed my mother prepare to die" revenge scenario, assuming they ever meet

What, practically no one died on their side. Thats not how battles work, especially with a bunch of rookies.

Currently at 251 chapters, you can find the raw at Kakuyomu here, or Zetro's translations here.

I mean, Faust has the opinion that Martina should hate him. I can't imagine we are to far off seeing her appear properly.

The total loss should be stated once the reinforcements arrive. If it follows the WN, 11 died.
If the manga plays it smart, they end this chapter with the sacrifice, chapter 12 is flashback for hannah's character depth, and 13 is maybe the direct aftermath of the sacrifice (resolved Valiere and despondent Sabine).
Yeah. Though it may wrap up both those threads in one chapter. Or the prolong the resolution throughout the next bit. I guess chapter 16 starts with Sabine rotating back in a similar manner.

Honestly, I'm just waiting for Volume 2 at this point.

I feel like I'm reading a different manga than what this originally started out as.
I really want it to go back to our MC's everyday horny life.
I mean this is good and all, but I feel conned out of of a reverse world harem story.

Thanks for the translation Aphrodite Scans

I mean, it is a Reverse World Harem story, just with the focus on late 14th century Alt European history. We are basically in the HRE right now.

Spoilers for a short synopsis of the following arcs, I'll even double blind it for people.
Volume 2 is Villendorf/Willendorf diplomacy tour.
Volume 3 is Backstory bits, Religion, and Faust's home.
Volume 4 is Murder investigations on how the old King Consort died.
Volume 5 is Martina stuff, more backstory, and superhumans.
Volume 6 is The start of the Sacred Gusten Empire/Alt-HRE, Mad Boar Ensues
Volume 7 is More SGE/HRE stuff, we probably shouldn't roll over it.
Volume 8 is Valiere marches on the Imperial Capital, time to plot to overthrow the Emperor I.
Volume 9 is You guessed it, a continuation of the last volume.
Volume 10 is Time to start an Inquisition. Gotta overthrow the Papacy as well.
Volume 11 is Time to actually form the Inquisition and overthrow the Emperor and the Pope.
We are currently in volume 11, and half the run time is dealing with the SGE, the Papacy, and the Emperor.

Honestly, for those wanting to read the WN, be aware you've possibly been bamboozled into reading Fantasy Alternate Reality Mid-Late 14th and early 15th century HRE History novel that also includes Gender Reversal and Enormous Breasts adorning it. If you check what happened back then, you might get a sneak peak on what is happening.

No, I'm not joking.

is it in the sense of a (mild) alt-history with T&A filler chpater now and then, or the writer completely abandoning the initial first impression (like Negima).

We are in the initial bits, volume 1. I mean, the plot is as it is. Faust next arc, and this is a major spoiler, gets engaged to a non-Anhalt character. I'd say the balance shifts more War/Politics/Religion(aka politics by another name), but his relationship status/gender remains a point of concern of some parties.

Fun fact, you can search up names of major places and find the real world name inspiration. Anhalt is a Principality/Duchy of Germany/HRE. Willendorf is a Village in Lower Austria where the Venus of Willendorf, a fertility statue, was found. Though Willendorf is more Prussia, perhaps the Venus' figure was the name sake for it being the older preference of Manly Men compared to Full-Figured women?

TL;DR; No, I don't think this is a Negima swerve. Just initial baiting needed. The Princess, Queen, and Duchess are still hot for Faust.

As an aside, Sabine is fantastic, that is all.

Not gonna lie, I'd think after confirming their survival, they'd rush to reconvene with Polidro to make sure he's not dead or grievously injured, and that he succeeded in killing the enemy commander, then hold a victory cheer. I'm at least assuming they know he's near enemy border.
Before going to the fight there was only one thing that was certain, is that Polidoro was going to be fine. They were more worried about themselves.

This is just the distant past of 1:39 male to female ratio manga. !:39 Protag of that has a paper due on this battle tomorrow. Probably gonna fail too considering he's so distracted.

Not super horny. Honestly, the sections with the Queen or Sabine are probably as horny as it gets. Like it has just enough Tits and Ass and Ecchi that I'd be hesitant to recommend it to everyone. But if you can handle To Love Ru or similar pure Ecchi stuff, you've surpassed the horny.

Edit: Just to clarify, To Love Ru is more Ecchi, just saying that if you can handle things like that, you are fine.

I kinda feel for Caroline. She doesn't seem like she's evil. Just trying to get by in an insane world.
