Damn, the author is really good at making you feel like shit. What a terrible mother, though she does fit into the stereotypical honor and achievement culture of East Asia, you shouldn't be so neglectful towards your kid. At least she let her keep the dog, but damn.

Also, although Chaldeog is the goodest and bestest boi, I wish we got to see how MC and FMC met, especially because I want to see their relationship given he's died of cancer and she feels that the only person who ever loved her was her dog.

@Tamerlane It does seem kind of unfortunate how the protagonist didn't have a place in her flashbacks, but it'll probably come up in the next chapters. Chaldeog's death was probably a lot more recent than his own, and she likely couldn't even visit him. She might also feel irrationally resentful of how he was unable to keep their promise.
